Multipage Project
For this project I wanted to go the route of simplicity and readability. I used only one main color, and straightforward text layout. MiraCosta serves a Coastal community and I wanted to show that very clearly in the design, even though countless MiraCosta schedules already do this. I used one sort of fancy font for the title, and then another for the main headers and I used Century Gothic for the content text. I really enjoyed this project, despite it being incredibly frustrating to really fully learn and understand how to use pages/sections/etc. Working with large amounts of text is actually more of a struggle than it would seem. InDesign did make the layout realtively painless though, and I learned more from this project than any of the others. Below is my work, hope people like it:

DVD cover
This is my DVD cover/jacket design. I decided to have some fun with it and create a Jurassic Park 5. (Some of you may be thinking there are only 3, but in fact a 4th one is currently in production). I looked at the designs for some of the other movies covers and wanted this to sort of fit with those, with the same sort of simplistic design and monochromatic color scheme.
I knew this assignment was more about the inDesign aspects and page layout/printing/etc, so I didn't spend a ton of time on my graphic production in Photoshop or Illustrator, although I was happy with the cover.
Anyway, I hope everyone likes it and at least gets a laugh out of it because of how cheesy a movie like this just might be.

Doodle # 1 - MDR

For this Doodle I simple used a couple of images of off-road trucks and stacked them with a neat dirt like texture over top. I used a feather gradient to help to blend the pictures together (now that I see it, it didn't work perfectly). I also used a drop shadow on "MDR".

Hi everyone, I'm Nathan. I'm taking this class as one of my last requirements for the AA in graphic design/web design. This program is a bit of a mystery to me as its the one I've never used, so it should be fun. I'm planning on transfering to a 4 year school in the next year or so to obtain a BA in media design or something like that. Eventually I'd like a masters in graphic design as well.
For fun I like to watch movies, eat food, drink beer, paintball, snowboard, hang out with the girlfriend, race buggy's in the desert, go hiking, and just generally stay active. Though I love to relax as well.
The image is something I created in advanced photoshop. Pretty much sums up my design style and one of my interests.
